In cooperation with a partner agency das webConcept I implemented a progressive web app in Joomla. The main focus of the agency was project management and design, I myself was responsible for the technical implementation of the PWA.
The Progressive Web App was directly linked to the existing content management system Joomla, so that the content is available for the existing website or app. One of the technical requirements was that Push Notification could be sent to provide the city's news. The push messages are generated from the post view in Joomla. This is only possible for the default categories. The subscriber of the Push Notification receives the message via browser on the desktop computer or smartphone, even if the app is only running in the background. Meanwhile, my developed miTT PWA plugin (PWA for Joomla) serves as the basis. Later, I also developed a WordPress plugin called PWA for WordPress.
The "Offline First" functionality rounds off the installable app on the end device, as it allows smooth navigation on the smartphone.
